If the funeral reception is held in the hall, we need a couple of volunteers to set the hall. Tables and chairs are set up ahead of time by the custodian. The tablecloths need to be put on all the tables, including the food and beverage tables. Food prep/set-up depends on the caterer. Sometimes the food just gets dropped and we have to put it out with serving spoons, plates, napkins, etc. Sometimes a caterer will set-up and stay. During the reception, someone just needs to be sure food is re-filled as necessary and assist in packing up leftovers, removing tablecloths and making sure the trash is all thrown away. There may be some dishwashing involved if our serving utensils are used.
