Sr. Suzanne Gross, a Sister of the Holy Eucharist in Meriden, is coming to St. Patrick to discuss end of life issues: care of the elderly, distribution of medical care and medical ethics, and to answer any questions you may have. A light luncheon will be served at 12:30 with the talk beginning at 1:00pm

Kelly Henderschedt is the Archdiocesan Director of the Office of Catechetical Education and Evangelization. She will come to present a talk on parenting from a faith perspective. This will be a talk for parents of children of all ages. Have you ever said, "I just don't know what to do?" All parents feel inadequate at times with all of the things happening in our communities and world. Kelly will give a "fresh perspective" on how to deal with difficult situations in daily life as a parent.
Kathleen Nowadsadko is the Director of the Office of Safe Environment for the Archdiocese of Hartford and also a volunteer on the Human Trafficking Task Force for the Archdiocese. Many in our parish have asked for more information on this theme, since it has become a world-wide threat to our children, teens, young adults and even adults.
On Sunday, February 24, 2019, a Celebration of Conferral of Papal Honors was held at the St. Thomas Chapel Pastoral Center in Bloomfield. Congratulations to our pastor, Monsignor Barry for this distinguished honor! On Sunday, May 19th, our very own Pauline Olsen was bestowed the Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice Cross, a distinguished honor given by Pope Francis to individuals with a strong Catholic Faith and the daily witness to Christ and the gospel. Congratulations to Pauline!
Due to recent legislation in New York allowing for late term abortions, a National Day of Mourning is scheduled for Saturday, February 23rd. We are asked to pray, fast and wear black on that day hoping to make up for apathy on this issue and to beg God for His mercy on us. At St. Ann's in Avon, we will gather to pray the rosary and Chaplet of the Divine Mercy from 1-2:30 pm in the church. Please feel free to join us.
