The Covenant to Care Ministry began 15 years ago and has supported hundreds of Families and Children throughout the years since 2003. St. Patrick Parish has a “covenant” with Dorothy Zyla, Social Worker Supervisor for the Department of Children/Families Services for the State of Connecticut. Several times during the year collections are taken up for DCF, for example: Backpacks/School Supplies in August; Frozen Turkeys, Thanksgiving Meal Foods in November; Christmas Stockings & the Giving Tree in December; Easter Baskets in the spring.
Advent is a time to share with those less fortunate and share Christmas Joy! One of the traditions here at St. Patrick's is the Giving Tree. You will see the Giving Tree in church. Please choose a tag and remove it from the tree. Gifts are to be returned on Sunday, December 16th. Please tape the tag to the gift and place it on the tables that will be set up in the church hall. Pat Jepsen is coordinating this with Eileen Dignazio to provide gifts for the children of Covenant to Care.
Also, there are 45 children in the Covenant to Care program that are in need of a Christmas stocking/gift. The list of children can be found on a table in the church hall. Please choose a child you would like to buy a stocking or gift for and write your name beside the child's. Stockings/gifts will be picked up by Dorothy Zyla, our parish social worker, on Sunday, December 16th at 12:30 p.m. For more information, please contact Eileen Dignazio - eileen@stpatsfarm.org.
Thank you very much for your continued generosity.
