The Homefront Team coordinators would like to thank the more than 30+ volunteers who worked several days in April and on May 6th to do home improvements for this year's recipient, WWII veteran, John Wartonick of Bristol.
The home owner is extremely grateful. The work done on this home is significant and by far the largest project we have taken on. You should all be proud of what has been accomplished. It was exciting to see so many familiar faces and a number of new team members!

How does one thank people in words when words cannot explain my gratitude and appreciation for everyone who was able to help out today…. And all that was accomplished? Amazing!
The St Patrick Homefront should be proud! You all came out on this glorious day and worked hard, worked together and completed amazing things.
From the flower beds to the new decked porch; much was done. I can’t thank our three electricians enough for all the work they completed, their time and effort is priceless. The new sump pump, hatch door, painted trim, bathroom repairs, sink and railing fixes as well as new steps out back, quite frankly overwhelmed the home owner.. There’s so many things that were done today when I think about it, I’m sure to miss a whole much.
The refreshments were great and we should all thank our friends at Subway on the corner of Rt6 and Fienemann Road. Lauren – hats off to you and Lorraine for an amazing job.
I enjoyed seeing you all today. It was great to see returning volunteers reconnect and to welcome a number of new volunteers.
Paul and Gene – Every year I stand in awe of both of you. You rise to any challenge. You’re hard work continues to pay great dividends to the homeowners we work with.
I have to tell you the homeowner was so much more than appreciative, I think she is still questioning what she need in life that brought our team to her. She is thanking god and has such a positive outlook because of the work you did.
May you all sleep well tonight and I truly thank you from the bottom of my heart!
May God bless you and keep you in good health and safe from harms way.
God Bless - Joanne
HomeFront Day April 30, 2011
HomeFront Day is carried out on the last Saturday in April by thousands of volunteers who represent corporations, businesses, faith-based organizations and civic groups coming together as a community to assist neighbors in need. HomeFront is a home repair program that provides quality of life repairs at no cost to homeowners in need. Our parish has participated in HomeFront for the last three years, with some assistance from the Knights of Columbus. This fun, one-day project makes a neighbor's home safe, warm and dry.
