Dear Parishioner:
The Parish Council and Office Staff have begun planning a celebration of the 50
th Anniversary of Father Barry’s ordination into the priesthood. We are planning to hold two separate celebrations on June 3
rd and June 4
th.
On June 3, 2017, we will have a reception at the Farmington Country Club from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. It will be an “open house” type of event, so feel free to drop in anytime to congratulate him and mingle with other parishioners and guests. The cost for this event has not yet been determined. There will be appetizers, pastas, a carving station and desserts. Beer, wine and soft drinks will also be included. Any additional liquor will be a “cash” bar. We will be sending out formal invitations as we get a bit closer to the date and RSVP’s will be requested. Also, if anyone wishes to make an additional contribution, we would like to be able to give Father a gift after the expense of the venue is covered.
On June 4, 2017, the 11:30 mass will be a celebration mass. Immediately following the mass will be a potluck reception at church, similar to the Oktoberfest. We will again request RSVP’s along with the item you will be bringing to share (i.e. appetizer, side dish or dessert). We are hoping to be able to offer this event at no cost to the parishioners.
To ease registration, we will include both events on WeShare, our online service for registering for church events and making contributions to the church.
Since May 7
th is Father Barry’s actual anniversary of the first mass he celebrated, the Hospitality Committee will dedicate “Coffee and…” on the weekend of Saturday and Sunday, May 6
th and May 7
th to Father.
If you have any additional questions or comments, please feel free to contact any of the Parish Council members or call the parish office (860) 677-2639.
Thank you very much.
